Dear Mr. Berry,
Your choice will affect thousands of students. You may not know what to think when it comes to adding 2 more days. Students would love you if you didn’t add more days of school. Us students don’t need any more days of school because it interferes with several summer activities and vacations for most.
You have 2 choices: keep the scheduled amount of days and gain the respect from thousands of students or add more days of school and lose respect. I understand that the state requires a certain amount of days and we are behind now, but we are not behind if we go by the national average. You may also be getting a lot of pressure from students, teachers, and parents but I believe that the normal amount of days is the right decision.
I, myself have plans the day after school is over on the 24th of May. If you give us two more days, then I won’t be leaving to see my dad. That would hurt both of our feelings. Could you live with yourself knowing that me and several others days will be ruined?
Other activities involving learning, such as sports and summer school will be affected. Summer school students would appreciate at least having a week off before school starts back up. They might not even have enough time to go on any vacation at all during the summer. I’m sure you went on summer vacations when you were a kid.
The answer to all these problems is clear; don’t add more days of school. Everyone will be happy.  If you were in our position, you would know exactly what to answer.
